New Features for Subscription Management, Usage Based Billing, and Revenue Recognition
USAGE-BASED PRICING
Discount Tables for Matrix Pricing
Volume and Tiered
September 2026
Price usage the way your customers actually buy. Matrix pricing lets a single plan charge different rates based on the details of each usage event, so you can build tiered and volume discounts without spinning up a separate plan for every scenario.
You define up to two dimensions from your usage data, for example region and service tier, and set a price for each combination. When an event comes in, Ordway matches it to the right cell and prices it, and falls back to a default rate if nothing matches, so every event is always priced. Reusable templates let you apply the same structure across many charges.
This is how you offer graduated pricing, where the unit price drops as volume grows, or premium rates for premium tiers, all inside one clean plan. It captures more expansion revenue as customers scale, without leaving you a mess of plans to maintain.

Bulk Sync with QuickBooks Online
Customers, Invoices, Payments
June 2026
Sync large batches of records to QuickBooks Online in one operation instead of one at a time, covering customers, invoices, products, journal entries, and contacts, for both new records and updates.
For a business with real volume, syncing record by record is slow and easy to interrupt. Batch sync gets everything into QuickBooks quickly and reliably, which is exactly what you need in the middle of a month-end close.

ACH Authorization Tracking
Capture Consent and Send Acknowledgement
June 2026
You can now capture authorization from the customer before initiating ACH direct debits. You can require a mandate, confirm that consent was given, collect the customer’s email, and send an acknowledgement automatically.
Every acceptance is tracked with a timestamped record, so you have a clear audit trail of who agreed to what and when. That matters because ACH debits come with rules about authorization, and a clean record protects you if a payment is ever disputed. It all happens automatically, so your team gets the compliance without the paperwork.
ACH is one of the cheapest ways to get paid, so making it easy and safe to run at scale keeps your processing costs down.

USAGE-BASED BILLING
No-Code Meter Builder
With a Safety Net
April 2026
Build a usage meter in a few clicks. Pick the event you want to measure, add filters to include only what counts, and choose how to add it up, whether that is a sum, a count, an average, or a minimum or maximum. Advanced users can still drop into SQL when they need something more custom.
The part that removes the risk is the simulation. Before a meter ever touches a live invoice, you can run it against real or sample events and see exactly what it would bill. It runs in isolation without affecting production data, so you can test the tricky cases and fix the logic before a customer ever sees a charge.
Usage billing tends to go wrong quietly, when a meter is misconfigured and nobody notices until an invoice has already gone out. Being able to build and prove a meter without engineering means finance can launch new usage-based products quickly and actually trust the numbers.

ERP INTEGRATION
Line-Level Tax for NetSuite
Records in Ordway Match Structure in ERP
April 2026
Tax can now be passed to NetSuite at the individual line level rather than as a single lump sum. If a matching tax code does not exist yet, Ordway creates it using your configured tax agency and account, and NetSuite applies the correct rate from there.
NetSuite handles tax at the line level natively, so sending it the same way means the two systems match without manual adjustments, and your tax reporting is accurate straight out of the sync.

Adyen Payment Verification
HMAC Extra Security Layer
April 2026
Payment updates coming back from Adyen are now checked with an extra layer of security called HMAC. In plain terms, Ordway confirms that each message genuinely came from Adyen and was not tampered with along the way before it acts on it.
This matters more than it sounds. Those messages are what tell your system that money moved, so if a fake or altered one slipped through, an invoice could be marked paid when it was not. The check closes that gap. Most customers will never see it, and that is exactly the point: it quietly makes every Adyen payment more secure and more trustworthy.

USAGE-BASED PRICING
Per Event Rating
Attribute-Specific Usage-Based Pricing
January 2026
Each usage event can now be priced on its own, based on its specific attributes, instead of being averaged into a bundle.
The calculated price is stored right on the event and flows through to your reports, so you can see precisely why a charge is what it is. That makes usage billing more accurate and far easier to audit line by line, which matters the moment a customer questions an invoice.

ERP INTEGRATION
NetSuite Payments Visible
Payment Records Created in ERP Push to Ordway
January 2026
Payments now stay in sync in both directions between Ordway and NetSuite. Record or update a payment in either system and it flows to the other through a scheduled background sync, with conflicts resolved automatically based on the most recent update.
Before two-way sync, a payment entered in NetSuite would not show up in Ordway, so balances drifted apart and someone had to reconcile them by hand. Now the two systems agree, with no duplicate entries or mismatched records, which is one less thing to untangle at close.

AI
AI Renewal Contract Capture
Let AI do the Data Entry
January 2026
Upload a signed contract and Ordway reads it for you. An AI agent uses natural language processing to pull out the details that drive billing, then turns them into a draft subscription, so nobody has to retype what is already written in the document.
It captures the fields that most often cause billing errors when they are keyed in by hand, including customer name and billing address, contract effective dates, the payment schedule, unit pricing, volume discounts, auto-renewal terms, and termination clauses. You can upload PDFs, Word files, or even image scans, one at a time or in bulk, and every captured contract lands in a pending state so your finance or revenue team can check it before anything goes live.
The hardest part of getting billing right is usually pulling clean data out of contracts that live in a dozen places, from your CRM to a partner’s system to a signed PDF in someone’s inbox. Contract Capture removes that bottleneck, and it now works for renewals as well as new deals, so it keeps paying off across the whole customer lifecycle.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE
Download Statements in Billing Portal
Self-Service Access for End-Users
September 2025
Customers can now see their account statements directly in the self-service billing portal instead of emailing your team to ask for them. It is a single toggle to switch on. A statement gives the full picture of an account over a period: opening balance, new charges, payments received, and closing balance. Putting that in the portal, right next to invoices and payment history, lets customers answer their own question of what they owe and why.
Billing questions are one of the most common tickets a finance team handles. Self-serve statements cut that volume and make the whole relationship feel more open.

Accept Google Pay at Checkout
Simplify End-Customer Payments with Digital Wallets
May 2025
Customers can now check out with Google Pay, one of the wallets they already use on their phones. It fills in payment and contact details in a tap, so there is far less typing, especially on mobile where most abandoned checkouts happen.
Making a familiar wallet available early in checkout has a measurable effect. Stripe has reported that surfacing a wallet through an express checkout button, rather than burying it at the end, can roughly double conversion on eligible traffic. For recurring revenue, an easier first payment means fewer sign-ups that stall before they start.

CHECKOUT
Show Sales Tax at Checkout
Estimate Total to Avoid Surprises
April 2025
Customers now see an estimated tax amount while they are still checking out, on both the embedded and express checkout flows, so the final total is not a surprise.
A total that jumps at the last step is one of the most common reasons people abandon a checkout. Showing tax up front builds trust, reduces abandoned carts, and cuts the later questions about why an invoice came in higher than the quote. It is especially valuable for product-led and self-serve motions, where there is no salesperson on hand to explain the number.

Accept Stripe’s Link at Checkout
One-Click Checkout for Customers
February 2025
Customers who use Stripe Link can check out with their saved payment details instead of re-entering a card. Adding a payment method is smoother and more secure, built on Stripe’s newer payment elements.
The numbers behind Link are strong. Stripe reports that Link users check out around three times faster, in as little as a few seconds, and that businesses with a large base of returning customers can see conversion rise by up to roughly 14 percent. Link can also use up-to-date card details when a customer’s saved card has expired or been reissued, which quietly rescues payments that would otherwise fail.

TAX
Product Tax Groups
The Right Tax on Every Product
January 2025
Group products and apply tax rules by group, so different kinds of products can carry different tax treatment, for example one rate for physical goods and another for software or services.
Tax rules vary by what you sell and where you sell it. Setting them once as a reusable group and attaching it to the right products means the correct tax is applied automatically, with no workarounds or manual overrides on every invoice.

Lower Card Processing Fees with Level 3 Data
Share Transaction Details to Reduce Interchange
January 2025
Card networks charge you less when you tell them more. When a business customer pays with a corporate or purchasing card, Ordway can now send extra transaction detail, known as Level 2 and Level 3 data, such as invoice numbers, sales tax, line items, product codes, and quantities. Because that detail proves the payment is a real, legitimate business purchase, Visa and Mastercard reward it with lower interchange rates, and interchange is the single biggest part of what you pay to accept a card.
Industry sources put the savings at roughly 0.5 percent to 1 percent per eligible transaction on commercial cards. On a $10,000 corporate card payment, even half a percent is $50 saved, and it repeats on every qualifying transaction, so it adds up fast at volume. The same detail also cuts down on chargebacks and makes reconciliation cleaner.
Best of all, the information Ordway sends is usually already sitting in your invoices, so you get the discount without any extra work. It applies to commercial and purchasing cards rather than consumer cards, and it works across Stripe, Braintree, and Adyen.
